Désiré is a brand and marketing extraordinaire. Like many successful ADHDers, her entire career looks like an incoherent zigzag which finally makes sense after a decade in the creative industry. She’s moved from technology to event management to writing, to marketing, photography, advertising and then branding; and somehow along the way, she’s managed to become a one-woman creative powerhouse, being able to code (websites and software), design, paint, write, and strategise, all to an exceptionally high level. She’s taken her entire career’s experience and industry projections and developed a coaching programme to help entrepreneurs all over the world turn their businesses into brand-focused organisations… without breaking the bank, via the TILT Nexus app.

Nearly 25 years ago, 10 year old Désiré was diagnosed with ADHD. Like many parents in the 90’s, hers didn’t want her medicated, so they decided to go through route of cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) but little did they know how it would change her entire life projection.

Nearly 25 years ago, 10 year old Désiré was diagnosed with ADHD. Like many parents in the 90’s, hers didn’t want her medicated, so they decided to go through route of cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) but little did they know how it would change her entire life projection.
As a young child, I struggled with being smarter and much faster than my peers. I was restless, bored, under stimulated at school, and lived in frustration of being perpetually misunderstood. But I had a few qualities that worked in my favour: I was obsessed with learning, and I was fixated on medicine. My father, being a software engineer, taught me how to think outside of typical confines, and encouraged me to apply the “engineering” thought process at every possible point.
When I was diagnosed, I went to work. I wanted to understand why my brain was different and why I had ADHD, which lead me to read as much as I could get my hands on in my mum’s home library. I wanted to figure out how I was different, and in a way, I wanted to use that to either blend in, or get ahead; I’m still not sure which.
Armed with my findings, productivity became a game for me. I would beat the clock every single day, and as young as 10, I had a morning schedule for getting ready for school – all broken down by time, because I knew I was time blind without understanding what time blindness was.
Scheduling became second nature and a necessity in my life. By the time I was in high school, schedules ruled my entire life, and I loved not having to think about what was next, as it was already scheduled.
This practice flowed into my adulthood, along with my keen use of hyper-focus, and the periods of my life that were full of un-productivity and stagnation were missing something crucial: an active schedule to give me direction, which reinforced my belief in time blocking.
As I moved through my career, accountability, hyper-focus activation, timers and other methods were added over time and soon, this just became a way of life.
Having incredible success in various aspects of life and rigorously tested for months with clients, I’ve decided to share my practices with the world of ADHDers.
What makes this different from other coaching services is that it’s based entirely on my own experience, rather than garbage theory and useless apps, and I adapt it based on my clients’ needs.
Pivoting is pivotal to success here, and it’s part of the ADHD way of life.
